We are waiting the new arrival of our diode laser.Ulcers and cold sores will be very treatable and short lived.

There has been an extreme upsurge in the use of lasers in dentistry in the last year.Currently there are hard tissue lasers and soft tissue lasers.
We have opted for a soft tissue laser at this time. The reason for this is that among other uses the soft tissue laser has been found to assist in the very quick healing of ulcers.
The usual kind of ulcer is the aphthous ulcer,which arrives for no apparent reason and there may be 1 or more of them at the same time.Usually they run a course of 7 to 10 days and then disappear and there is no known cure for these. During this time however they are very debilitating!

Well , with the new laser technology these ulcers can be treated and will last only 2-3 days if that. So now those long periods of pain and discomfort can be very short lived.

For Cold Sores there has been evidence to suggest that if you laser them when you get the tingling feeling the cold sore will not eventuate, but even more extraordinary is that anecdotal evidence seems to suggest that they do not recur at the same site again.
So as from January 2005 we will offer this treatment for the ulcers and cold sores.
